This is the second target for my new wide-field setup, the North America and Pelican Complex. Both belong to the same interstellar cloud of ionized hydrogen gas, but they are separated by a ragged lane of interstellar dust that absorbs their light. The North America (NGC7000) and the Pelican Nebula (IC5070) show a rich and diverse structures filling the full 4×5 degree field of view. A perfect target for the ATIK 460EXm plus Asahi/Pentax Takumar 135mm combo.
For a start, this is a monochrome image composed of 52 Ha exposure with 300 sec each, i.e., more than 4 hours of photons in total. Only very basic processing, no noise reduction, no masks, no tricks.
